Vincent James Drogo, 93, died April 25, 2022 in his Laureldale Borough residence.
He was the loving and caring husband of June Meryl (Yeakley) Drogo, with whom he shared 73 years of marriage.
Born May 15, 1928, in Temple, he was a son of the late Jesse and Concetta (Peri) Drogo, and was the last surviving child of them.
Vincent was employed in the construction business for 39 years, and was in the Operating Engineers Union #542; he retired in 1992.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. His most memorable duties were patrolling the beaches of Saipan and Guam.
Vincent was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.
You could alway count on Vincent to sing you a song, no matter where he was, or what he was doing. He was an animal lover, and he also enjoyed roller skating, which he did with his wife until they were in their late 70s. Most of all, he loved his family very much.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his five children: Marianne (Drogo) Ott of Kissimmee, FL; Barbara I. (Drogo), wife of Michael Wall of Cumru Township; Daniel B., husband of Colleen Drogo of Auburndale, FL; Alan S., widower of Patricia Drago of Wernersville; and Bruce A., husband of Wendy Drago of Reading.
Other survivors include his 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Vincent was very loved and will be greatly missed by his family.
A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 5-7 at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, (Laureldale) Reading, PA 19605.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. Burial will follow the mass at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
