Ruth L. (Hunter) Kohler, 91, of Hyde Villa, Muhlenberg Township, died March 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the loving wife of Glenn J. Kohler, Sr., who passed away on June 12, 2017.
Born in Schuylkill Haven on March 25, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Earl S. and Frieda E. (Naffin) Hunter.
Ruth and Glenn met in 10th grade at Muhlenberg High School. They were married on March 8, 1952 and celebrated 65 years together before his passing.
Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a lifelong member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.
Ruth was a homemaker after working at Bechtel, Lutz and Jost.
She enjoyed reading and traveling with Glenn to all 50 states. Ruth was the happiest with the time she spent when her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren came to visit.
Ruth is survived by her loving children: Sherrie G., wife of William Clark of Peoria, AZ; Donna R. Raven, widow of Marc Raven of Millsboro, DE; Glenn J. Kohler, Jr., husband of Denise Shardlow of Elkins Park, PA; and Alan R., husband of Amy (Lubas) Kohler of Hazleton, PA.
There are also seven grandchildren, who Ruth loved dearly: Jennifer, wife of Frank Heckman; Rachel, wife of Carey Kline; Amanda, wife of Ryan Melillo; Amy, wife of Matthew Rimby; Lance Weyandt; and Ian Kohler and Sarah Kohler. There is also a step granddaughter, Arai Lubas.
Other survivors include her five great grandchildren: Alex, Olivia, and Riley Heckman, Evan Melillo and Ava Rimby.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne Reber, and by her brother, Donald Hunter.
Services will be held Saturday, April 2nd, at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. A viewing will be held from 10-11. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
