Ronald Irvin Bigony, Sr., 89, of Centre Township, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Married July 14th, 1962, he was the beloved husband of Eleanor Mae (Lessig) Bigony.
Born March 9th, 1932, in Reading, Ronald was the son of the late Glenn R., and Mary E. (Phillips) Bigony.
Ronald was a 1951 graduate of Reading High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Ronald was employed for eleven years at Curtis Stephens Emery Shoe Factory, Reading. He later worked at Interstate Container as a bailer/operator, starting in 1972, retiring in 2009.
He enjoyed watching old western, and science fiction movies, and fishing. He was also very proud of his 1964 Mercury Comet which he purchased brand new but had his entire life.
In addition to his wife Eleanor, Ronald is survived by three children: Ronald "Dooley" I. Bigony, Jr., Mohrsville; Jacqueline M., wife of William T. Bidden, Perry Twp.; and Gerald R., husband of Amie L. Bigony, Bern Twp. Two grandchildren, Johnathan J. Blatt, and Victoria M. Blatt, both of Leesport; three siblings; Joan Schaefer, Robesonia; Belinda Mays, Womelsdorf; and Christine Dillman, Scotland, also survive him.
Ronald was predeceased by his stepmother, Annetta "Nanny" Kline, and two siblings, Jean Pinkerton, and Carol Ann Bigony.
