Peggy Ann Reiniger, 74, of Muhlenberg Township, died unexpectedly in Tower Health / Reading Hospital, Emergency Room on August 16, 2021.
She was the wife of Lee R. Reiniger, whom she married June 15, 1968.
Born in West Reading, PA on November 14, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Elwood D., and Clara M. (Kline) Oxenreider.
Peggy was a 1964 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a 1966 graduate of McCann School of Business.
She was first employed 10 years as a secretary in the business and guidance offices with the Muhlenberg School District. She was later employed with Albright College as a secretary, working in the Alumni Office, Admissions Office and lastly the Faculty Office before retiring in 2000.
Peggy was a member of the Eastern Star and former president of the WELCA at Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping and cake decorating.
Peggy is also survived by three children: Matthew D., husband of Dr. Jessica L. (Tobias) Reiniger, of Maidencreek Township; Jeffrey L., husband of Melissa A. (Gaspari) Reiniger of Sinking Spring Borough; and Cara M. (Reiniger), wife of Aaron P. Faessen of Muhlenberg Township.
She was affectionately known as “Grammy” to six grandchildren: Cole R. Faessen, Hannah G. Reiniger, Brodie L. Faessen, Peter J. Reiniger, Derek J. Reiniger, and Adison A. Faessen.
Peggy was the youngest of her siblings: Elwood J., widower of Margaret (Marberger) Oxenreider of Temple, George D. Oxenreider – Deceased, Barrett R. Oxenreider and his wife Lillian (Czarnecki) Oxenreider – Deceased, Lynn F., husband of Josephine (Russo) Oxenreider of Midlothian, VA.
Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Jeanne (Hinkle) Oxenreider, of Wernersville and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, August 20th at 10:30 AM in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held Friday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s UCC Cemetery, Molltown.
