Obituary

Kenneth Edward "Bud" Franks, 74, passed away on August 6, 2021 in his Alsace Township home.

Born in West Reading, PA. June 28, 1947, he was the son of the late Kenneth Farrell Franks and Jean Martha (Broad) Franks.

He was the loving husband of Sarah Elizabeth (Dunlap) Franks, whom he married May 24, 1969.

Kenneth was a 1965 graduate of Northeastern High School in York.

He was employed 25 years with Dolan Construction, Reading, retiring as a foreman in 2011.

For 40 years, he spent his summers on the Indian River Inlet in Delaware and spent 5 winters in Daytona Beach, Florida. He enjoyed golfing at Manor Golf Course, going on cruises, and antiquing.

He was passionate about his mustang convertibles and helping anyone that needed him; never saying no.

Kenneth loved his family and enjoyed playing "sock wars" with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Pop”.

He is survived by his sons: Robert Allen Kutzler III, husband of Tanya Marie (Stoyer) Kutzler, of Oley, and Andrew Nolan Franks, companion of Holly Marie Spotts, of Bern Township.

Kenneth was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Kenny A. Kutzler, Aubree D. Lutz, Dalaney C. Kutzler, and Chase A. Franks.

Other survivors include three siblings: Keith Franks, husband of Donna Munde, of Camp Hill, William Franks, husband of Elaine, of Maidencreek Township, and Karen (Franks) Dattoria, wife of Vincent, of Frederick, Maryland.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Christ Little Tulpehocken Church Cemetery.
