Joseph Charles Firth, 90, of Cumru Township, died
May 14, 2021, at The Lutheran Home at
Topton, Longswamp Township.
He was the loving husband of Mary Frances (Lutsky)
Firth, with whom he shared 66 years of
Born, January 13, 1931, in Pottsville, he was a son
of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Faivre)
Joseph was a 1949 graduate of Pottsville Catholic
He was employed as a cable splicer with Bell Telephone
in Pottsville and Muhlenberg Township,
for many years.
Joseph was a member of St. John’s R.C.Church, Shillington.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps
during the Korean War.
Joseph was a member of Clover Park Athletic Association,
and he enjoyed bowling, golfing, and
Surviving are his five daughters: Mary Jo, wife of
Randy Lewis of Cumru Township; Elizabeth A.
Firth of St. George, UT; Lisa M., wife of Ronald G.
Priar of Exeter Township; Kathleen M., wife of
Keith Rhein of Spring Township; and Bridget, wife
of Marvin Crawl of Exeter Township.
Also surviving is his twin brother, Charles Joseph
Firth of Warminster, Bucks County; 11
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, James Firth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday,
May 21st at 10 a.m. at St. Benedicts R.C.
Church 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton, PA 19540.
A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:00
a.m. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg
