Obituary
Jean Mae Hamaker, 87, formerly of Laureldale, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2022 at Masonic Villages, Elizabethtown, surrounded by her loving family.
Born,
May 21, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Grace Eva (Rothenberger) Sweitzer.
She was the widow of Paul S. “Skip” Hamaker, Jr. who preceded her in death on
December 10, 2013.
Jean was a 1952 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.
She was employed as an office clerk with Berkshire News for eight years, and then VF Corporation for 6 years, retiring in 2001.
Jean was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Pricetown and a member of Eastern Star, Chapter #251.
She was an avid Phillies fan and loved bluegrass music.
Surviving is her daughter, Brenda Ann (Rothermel), wife of Frederick Cutler of Laureldale.
Other survivors include her three grandchildren: Christopher Huey, Timothy Huey, husband of Kristy, and Kimberly (Huey), wife of Devin Schickram.
There are also four great grandchildren: Landon, Vinnie, Jack, and Braxton.
Services will be held, Wednesday, April 6th at 10 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pricetown Cemetery, Ruscombmanor Township.
