Gladys A. Czechowski, 91, formerly of Shillington, died June 4, 2020 in Mifflin Center, Cumru Township.
She was the widow of John L. Czechowski, who died November 8, 1984.
Born April 3, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Howard S. Schell Sr., and Elsie May (Zuber) Schell.
She was a member of St. Stephen’s Polish National Catholic Church, Cumru Township.
Gladys loved playing bingo and her favorite color was purple.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Wanda G. (Czechowski) Morrison (1947-2016).
Gladys is survived by a granddaughter, Karen L., wife of Jeffrey L. Degler and two great grandchildren: Kyle B., and Kira L. Degler, all of Spring Township.
She is also survived by four siblings: Ruth I. Trout, Betty Wolfe, Patricia Eckert and Elsie “Susie” Schell.
Gladys was predeceased by 10 siblings: Pearl E. Keller, Hazel E. Zielinski, Irvin H. Schell, Dorothy E. Jeanes, Helen R. Kilpatrick, George A. Schell, Howard S. Schell, Jr., Donald M. Schell, Kenneth W. Schell, and June Reese.
A public graveside prayer service will be held Wednesday, June 10th at 10:00 am in St. Stephen’s Polish National Church Cemetery, 1200 Broadway Blvd., Kenhorst. The services will be live streamed and then uploaded to the website by the end of the day Wednesday.
In honor of Gladys, please wear something purple.
There will be no public viewing. The family will be having a memorial service at a later date.
