Gerald Harmen Williams, 85, of Reading and formerly of Bethlehem, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on
March 12, 2021 , at ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township.
He was the loving husband of Stella (Gorka) Williams, with whom he just celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Born, March 21, 1935, in Easton, Northampton County, he was a son of the late Gerald Harmon and Laura Mary Williams Ruch.
Gerald was a 195 2 graduate of Easton High School. He participated in the Naval Reserves from 1952 to 1960.
He was employed as a store manager with Food Fair, Pantry Pride and Laneco for 38 years combined. Friends and family considered him to be a good samaritan, he volunteered at Bethlehem Christian School, helped at a local cat shelter, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Easton and was a charter member of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Allentown.
Surviving are his four children: Cathy, wife of Walter Santo Domingo of Maidencreek Township; Jeanette “Jeanie,” wife of Mark Tress of Ormond Beach, FL; Gerald husband of Carol (Stuart) Williams of Royersford; and Andrea, wife of Barry Stern of Muhlenberg Township.
Other survivors include his eight grandchildren: Lauren E. Weand, Sandra F. Kanjumba, Shannon J. Opalka, Kristine N. Fulks, Kari L. Copeland, Gerald A. Williams, Bethany F. Stern and Jacob M. Stern; and two great grandchildren, Piper J. Weand and Selah Fulks.
Also surviving is his brother, Randy Ruch.
Services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
