George Edward Epting, Sr., 86, died December 25, 2020 in his Douglass Township residence.
He was the companion of Lillian (Mansfield) Abbott for over 40 years.
Born January 18, 1934 in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late William Howard Epting and Magdalene Anna (Perzel) Epting.
George attended Perry Township High School.
He was employed as a mechanic with Rothrock / Norco Dodge until his retirement in 2007.
George was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
He is also survived by four children: George E. Jr., of Reading; William, husband of Merry Epting of Birdsboro; Ginger Fontaine, wife of LeAnne of Pittsburgh, and Mickey Epting of Reading; two grandchildren: Sari Epting and Zachary Epting; and two great grandchildren: Trevin and Jaxson Epting.
There are also three step-children: Sharon, wife of Terry Stoudt of Boyertown; Arlene, wife of Gary Sifford of Barto, and Phillip Abbott, Jr., of Douglass Township; and three step-grandchildren: Lisa LaSeur, Harry Martin, and Nicole Solomon; and four step great grandchildren: Cole Martin, Chloe Martin, Quinn Martin and Caroline Watkins.
George is also survived by a brother, William H. Epting, Jr., of Reading.
He was predeceased by two sisters: Rose Epting and Anna Cupris.
A viewing will be held Monday, January 4th from 10:30 – 11:30 am with a service starting at 11:30 am in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley, PA 19547.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
