Chester W. Bressler

October 10, 1928 ~ January 2, 2022 (age 93)


C.W. “Bud” Bressler, 93, of Laureldale, died January 2, 2022, at ProMedica, Muhlenberg Township.

He was the loving husband of Shirley June (Homan) Bressler, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage.

Born, October 10, 1928, in Newmanstown, Lebanon County, he was a son of the late Lynn Howard (and Annie Marie (Saltzer) Bressler.

Bud was a 1946 graduate of Reading High School.

He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

A postal worker, Bud served 28 years at the Gus Yatron facility, in Reading, retiring in 1996.

He loved playing baseball, dancing, going to casinos, and golfing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is his son, Larry K., husband of Marci (Goldstein) Bressler of Kirkwood, PA.

Also surviving is his sister, Jennie Baum of Brecknock Township.

There are also eight grandchildren: Caleb, Cody, Evan, Ethan, Alex, Anna, Joni and Jacie.

Bud was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth D. Bressler, and by two sisters, Emma Lou Himmelberger and Sadie Strouse.

Services will be held Thursday at 12 p.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.  A viewing will be held from 11 a.m.  to 12 p.m.  Burial will follow the service at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
