Charles Martin “Marty” Gordner, 67, of Blandon, passed peacefully at home, with his family by his side on March 13. He was the son of the late Charles W. and Theresa M. (Sheehan) Gordner.
He worked as a Corrections Officer in maintenance at Berks County Jail for 25 years before retiring.
Marty was a '71 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and worked as a Master plumber and HVAC mechanic.
As an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, motorsports and wildlife photography and was especially fond of bird watching. Marty was also a supporter of scholastic wrestling.
He is survived by Eileen (Nertavich), his wife of 47 years; his son Tucker, husband of Katie of Wyomissing; his sisters Debra, wife of Michael Steffey of Leesport; Beverly Roth of Pennside; Nancy, wife of Joseph Aulenbach of Sinking Spring; and Vicki, wife of Richard Seidel of Pace, FL; and his brother Vince Nertavich, Jr of Temple. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Phyllis Nertavich.

A Graveside service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Muhlenberg Township. Please enter at the main entrance of the cemetery.
