Tristen Edward Wertz, 14, of Ruscombmanor Township, passed away unexpectedly February 27, 2018.
Born in Pottstown on March 18, 2003, he was a son of Steven J. Wertz and Frances M. Messing.
He was a 9th grade student at Oley Valley High School, where he was also on the Chess Club.
Tristen is survived by his maternal grandparents: John E., husband of Frances E. (Mayer) Messing of Laureldale; and his paternal grandmother, Maria (Brady), wife of Randolph Coshin of Myrtle Beach, SC.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Francis Wertz.
Tristen is also survived by seven siblings: Steven J. Holmes of King of Prussia; Miranda J. Holmes of Wyomissing; John J. Wertz, Frank J. Wertz, Skyla E. Wertz, Brandon L. Wertz and Nicholas W. Wertz, all at home.
He loved listening to all types of music and going for long walks.
Tristens favorite games were chess and solving Rubik’s Cube as fast as he could.
He was a protector of all animals and insects.
Tristen was always looking out for everyone else before himself, making sure they always had a smile on their face.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 3rd at 11:30 am in St. Columbkill Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown, PA 19512.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 am – 11:30 am in the Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Rd, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
