Thomas Hudson WhiteNovember 9, 1948 ~ November 25, 2017 (age 69)
Thomas Hudson White, 69, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2017 in his Muhlenberg Township residence, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Deborah Joan (Siegfried) White, to whom he was married October 10, 1981.
Born November 9, 1948 in Portland, OR, he was a son of the late Warren Hudson and Jane (Coppinger) White.
Tom was a 1966 graduate of Quincy High School, Quincy, MA and a graduate of Quincy Junior College, Quincy, MA, where he earned his associate’s degree in business.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1968-1972, and was stationed many different places, including Vietnam.
Tom was employed with Vulcan Company, Inc. as demolition tools sales manager for 36 years, retiring in 2012.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Muhlenberg Township.
Tom was a volunteer firefighter for the last ten years. The last three years he spent with Temple Fire Company, and prior to that, for seven years, with Goodwill Fire Company. Tom enjoyed his time spent volunteering and loved his fellow firefighter family.
He was a 4th Degree Black Belt recipient, and enjoyed many years training and teaching at Heilman Karate Academy, Muhlenberg Township.
Tom’s primary focus was always his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children: Jessica Lee White of Durham, NC and Dr. David Thomas White of Baltimore, MD.
Also surviving are his three siblings: Warren E., husband of Donna White of Zebulon, NC; Deborah, wife of Joseph Rudy of Monroe, NC and Susan Barnett, wife of Steven of Monroe, NC.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 2nd at 12 noon at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematrory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Lauredale, followed by Military Honors.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
