Scott Stauffer

April 30, 1970 ~ September 26, 2019 (age 49)

Obituary

Scott Leaman Stauffer, 49, of Exeter Township, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2019 at

Reading Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Washington, D.C. on April 30, 1970, to Michael Stauffer, husband of Eileen of Garnet

Valley, Delaware County, and Rebecca Pratt, widow of Joseph Pratt of Lititz, PA. In addition to his parents,

he is survived by his son, Nathan Stauffer of Boston, MA, his four siblings: Kevin Stauffer, husband of

Jeanean Mohr of Blue Bell, PA; his twin, Dr. Thomas Stauffer, affianced to Aurelia Straub of Nazareth, PA;

Martin Molloy, husband of Meredith Molloy of Wallingford, PA; Amy Molloy of Garnet Valley, PA; and

nieces Abigail and Elise and nephew Lucas.

Scott was a 1989 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown, PA and attended various

technical schools pursuing his dream of becoming a chef. He was successful, working at various fine

restaurants such as the Dilworthtown Inn and Bertolini’s in the King of Prussia area. Over the course of

his career, he also served as Executive Chef for Sodexho and Aramark Corporations working at Trinity

University in San Antonio, Texas, and won awards for his skills and expertise at multiple culinary

competitions.

Scott loved to prepare good food. He was passionate about his menu designs and how food was

presented, from the food itself to the ambience of the setting. His passion was cooking, but he loved the

art of garnishing with bits of carved food, radish rosettes and sprigs of herbs, believing that the garnish

added texture, flavor and beauty to his presentation. He delighted in making fine pastries and ices to

complete the meal. Scott equally enjoyed sharing his love of cooking and teaching with those around

him, particularly his family.

Scott will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, and innate ability to engage with friends and

strangers alike.
