Ruth Fern (Ludwig) Sitlinger, 95, went home to be with our loving Lord, on Tuesday, November 14, 2019 at Reading Hospital, with her family by her side.
Born in 1924 to Harry and Eleanor Ludwig, she was a 1942 graduate of Reading High School.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Russell Sitlinger.
Ruth attended St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir as a child.
She enjoyed roller skating, dancing and singing. She auditioned at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, but decided to stay with her father who was not well.
Ruth was a gentle, kind, loving, nurturing woman. She loved all people and always saw the good in everyone. She especially loved her husband, four daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved all animals.
She is survived by her four daughters: Lyn Banks of Reading; Karen, wife of Theodore Kuzminski of Bethlehem; Brenda, wife of John Gross of Exeter Township; and Deborah, wife of Dennis Woodring of Muhlenberg.
Also surviving are her four grandchildren: David Banks, Sheri Marzili, Michael Woodring and Clifford Woodring.
There are also three great grandchildren, Alyssa Marzili, Adam Marzili and Silas Woodring. In addition, surviving, is her good friend, Cheryl Hoyer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 2 p.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow at Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
