Albert Eugene Barskey, IIIOctober 23, 1948 ~ December 1, 2017 (age 69)
Albert Eugene Barskey, III., 69, of Temple, passed away December 1, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Kathleen Marie (Przydzial) Barskey, to whom he was married September 8, 1973.
Born October 23, 1948 in Reading, he was a son of the late Albert Eugene Barskey, Jr. and Mildred Blanche (Derr) Ziegler.
Al was a 1966 graduate of Muhlenberg High School. He was also a graduate of Drexel University, where he received his undergraduate and master degrees in engineering.
He was employed for almost 20 years in transportation at Carpenter Technology, retiring in 1992.
Al was a member of Patriotic Order Sons of America and Cub Scouts at Holy Guardian Angels Church, Pack 161, where he was Scout Master for several years. He was also a member of the dart team at Rosedale U.C.C., Laureldale for many years.
He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and taking road trips. He was the number one Denver Broncos fan. He also liked Star Wars and James Bond movie series and loved the Peanuts characters.
Al loved to travel, especially to Colorado and the beach. He also enjoyed the Trans Siberian Orchestra, and he was very proud that he was able to get tickets for a show one year.
Family was always first in Al’s life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Albert E. Barskey, IV of Atlanta, GA; Bradley S. Barskey of Temple and Jason A. Barskey of Temple.
Other survivors include he two siblings: Gary Barskey of Burlington, NC and Becky Lawrence of Mohnton and his stepsister, Wileen Reber.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be private.
